Halloween H2O

For anyone who is interested, this is what we dressed as for Halloween.
I obviously inspired Ch4's 3D week (which was a bit naff by the way) with my '3D lady' outfit, the make-up was questionable, as I a) didn't manage to get what I needed and b) didn't have time. But it looked eye boggling through the 3D specs!
Check out Alison as a BIG CAT in the background.
Kandy went for the 'I put more effort in' approach with this awesome knitted organ dress, look her insides are outside, she got as little hot and later put a sheet on her head.
Am I the only one who doesn't know that dance song from like 3 years ago called H2O?!?

Crafty Idols...

this time we haven't just got one person of crafting inspiration, but a bunch, a collective, CraftivistCollective .
They aim, in their own words:
"To expose the scandal of global poverty, and human rights injustices though the power of craft and public art. This will be done through provocative, non-violent creative actions."
One way in which they do this is by making protest banners:

The awesome Sarah sent us a protest banner in the post, here's what we did:

Then we put it up:

You can read a little more about Craftivist Collective in the 4th issue of Sugar Paper (but that's not out yet) so go visit their site.

OK, I think I may have taken it a little too far now...

So I took a leisurely stroll to the library to return my books (for anyone who cares they were Anglea Carter- Several Percetions and Jonathan Coe- The Closed Circle (TCC>TRC)) when something caught y eye on the 'just in' shelf. I went over picked it up and thought, 'hey what the heck, I'll take it out if only for the lolfactor', this is the book:Now I got to the counter and the conversation went something like this
Librarian" Oh, it's popular this isn't it"
me " yes"
"oh, do you like him, Robert Pattinson?"
"yeah?!?"
"I would too if I was 15 tears younger"
Then to hide my embarrassment that she as probably only 6-8 years older than me, and therefore in the same age bracket, I muttered something about me getting it because it looks like an easy read. I was, for once, grateful to be mistaken for a 15 year old, i then scurried off to B&M.

Oh and for the record, I probs wont even read the Taylor 'teeth' Lautner half.

THE SHAME!

Friday the 13th

was spent watching Twilight in the lecture hall of the Whitworth art gallery with a bunch of teenage girls, I also had a spot of bad luck, grrrr.

things I have been doing...

which mean I haven't had time to blog, to read blogs, to generally waste my life on the Internet.....
Working over Halloween in a fancy dress shop, sheesh, having a Halloween party and falling asleep, sewing, making giant candy corns from the recipe in Bust,
going to see live music (LC! twice in one week, ha!), attending a funeral and a wedding, dying my hair orange,
making food from sweet potatoes, finishing off zine number 4, buying tickets for New Moon, getting excited about going to see New Moon. erm yeah actually that's all I've been doing.
